My vacuum smells, what can I do?
If your vacuum gives off a foul smell, check the filters and dust bag. Clean them or replace them if necessary. Also make sure there are no blockages in the hoses.
Empty the dust container (or replace the dust bag if you don't have a cordless vacuum).
Clean or replace the filter. The filter should not get wet. So don't clean it with water, but with a dry cloth.
Check the hose and nozzle, as dirt can be left behind here, too.
Vacuum up some special vacuum odor beads.
Clean the loose parts with soapy water and natural detergent.
What can I do if the suction power decreases?
If you notice that the suction power decreases or drops off completely, it may be because a part is blocked or clogged.
Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery.
Check if the nozzle is blocked by dirt, such as hair. If yes, clean it.
Check if the suction tube is clogged with dirt. Yes? Try gently clearing it with a long object.
Check if the dust container is full and empty it.
Check and clean the filter.
Replace the battery, turn on the vacuum and test it.
My Unlimited vacuum is not working. How do I solve this?
Check that the battery is inserted correctly by placing the battery in the vacuum via the guide rail.
Check that the battery is charged. Charge the battery pack via the charging cable or docking station. During charging, the status indicator flashes white. When the battery is fully charged, the status indicator is lit white for several minutes. That's when you know the battery is fully charged.
It is also possible that the vacuum is overheated or undercooled. In this case, turn off the vacuum and disconnect it from the power supply. Then wait for the appliance to return to room temperature.
What does it mean when the red light is on?
If a red light is on, it can have several causes such as:
The battery is not inserted properly. Check this and insert the battery correctly.
The battery is dead. Charge the battery.
The vacuum is overheated or undercooled. Turn off the Unlimited and wait for it to return to room temperature before continuing vacuuming.
The battery is draining faster and faster. How is this possible?
Using the turbo mode
The turbo mode uses more energy. As a result, the battery needs to be charged faster. Use the turbo mode only when really necessary (e.g. for stubborn dirt), and try to use the vacuum in the normal mode most of the time. The battery will then last longer.
Incorrect charger
Use only (the supplied) original Bosch chargers. Other chargers may adversely affect the quality of the battery and thus shorten its service life.
Not fully charged
Make sure that you fully charge the battery in one go. And not very often briefly. These short incomplete charging sessions prevent the battery from working optimally.
Overheated battery
If the vacuum is used or stored in a warm environment, it can negatively affect the battery capacity. Overheating can cause the battery to discharge faster. Store and charge the vacuum in a cool, dry environment and avoid overheating during use. If you notice the vacuum getting hot turn it off and wait for the vacuum to cool down.
Outdated or broken battery
Batteries lose their capacity over time due to use and normal wear and tear. This is especially noticeable after prolonged use or if the vacuum is often used on high setting. Check if the battery is older than two years or if it has visibly reduced power. If necessary, replace the battery with a new Bosch Power for ALL battery, as these are designed specifically for Bosch Unlimited appliances. You can order a new battery in the Bosch webshop.
How to extend the working time
Make sure the filter is clean, as a clogged filter makes the vacuum work harder and therefore the battery is faster.
Buy an extra (spare) battery if you want to vacuum wirelessly for longer periods of time.
Check the manual
The manual not only tells you how to use and maintain the Unlimited, but also how to easily fix certain problems or malfunctions yourself.
